[Smcwg-public] DBA Names

Hello:



You may have noticed that I have pushed some minor changes to the draft, most of which are cleanups that do not change the meaning of the text.



However, there is one change to which I want to draw your attention:

https://github.com/cabforum/smime/blob/preSBR/SBR.md#32322-verification-of-assumed-name and https://github.com/cabforum/smime/blob/preSBR/SBR.md#71422-subject-distinguished-name-fields (see item b).



When the S/MIME BR relied upon EV, it  included the more prescriptive EV-style use of DBA "assumed" org names.  The S/MIME BR draft has now been made consistent with the TLS BR (while allowing CAs to use the EV-style if desired).
