As discussed earlier in the working group, there was an internet-draft defining a generic eku for Document Signing. It has now been published as RFC 9336.
Over time it is hoped this will allow the separation of document signing from emailProtection.
(1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.36 - id-kp-documentSigning)
Congratulations to Tadahiko Ito, Tomofumi Okubo and Sean Turner for authoring this.
