We are currently working through a process to try and get more patent
clarity around this particular issue. Given that, is it the right thing
to still be pushing the changes towards a vote, particularly as the
changes remove the "other equivalent" safety valve which allows people
to tweak methods to avoid patent problems?
Speaking for us, even if I thought these changes were good, I don't
think I'd want to vote in favour of removing that option until the
patent process had completed.
