Recap of Status: Scope for Publicly Trusted SSL QCs, etc.

Emails 19-20 Dec. Subject: "Definition of an SSL certificate" Suggestions
include that OIDs be mandated; that Browsers agree on what they require of
SSL certificates so that only those that match this intent (rather than what
an issuer might intend) can be technically used; agree on technical
definitions of not only SSL certificates, but the intermediates and roots
involved; use new RFC 3647 BR document to cover all publicly trusted
certificates and distinguish types within or with appendices; clarify
relationships among browser uses and those of other organizations (grid
certificates, qualified certificates, etc.); address issuance policies; work
on comprehensive solutions, etc

Recap of Status: Pre-certificates and Certificate Transparency

Emails 19-20 Dec. Subject: "CT Precertificates and the BRs" Comments
covered a variety of concerns. CABF guideline documents need to allow
implementation of CT specs (pre-cert with same serial number), continued
discussion of serial number and public key use in CT, and deployment
concerns of some CAs. Also discussions under subject line "Question on CT:
Monitoring".
