Gentlemen, you are posting to the list, so I'm pretty sure you are

In any case, the correct mechanism for subscribing to a mailing list is
_never_ to post a message to the list itself. In this case, the correct
mechanism is either to send a mail:

mailto:public-request at cabforum.org?subject=subscribe

or to visit this URL:

http://cabforum.org/mailman/listinfo/public
