Virginia – Given that those who attended the F2F are just flying home, groggy, and probably catching up – I suggest on Monday you send out the documents one more time to the Public list, remind all that an overview of the changes were presented at the F2F, and the WG now is asking for FINAL comments on the Bylaws changes before going to a ballot.

We have our next CABF teleconference on July 6 – I suggest you ask for all comments by then (and we discuss on the teleconference) so you can go to a ballot right after that.

Hi Peter,

Understood. Let’s see what comments we get back on the drafts we circulated for the F2F, and then we can gauge it from there.

I think it depends on how close we think we are to having the full package ready. If we think it is only a handful of weeks, then lets go for the package. Otherwise I would like to get the plenary language added so we can avoid the concern around sub-groups meeting.

Hi Peter,

I was thinking of it more as a package, but we can certainly consider that suggestion. Why would you not want to wait and do it all at once?

Virginia,

Thank you so much for preparing and presenting these. I was wondering if it would make sense to ballot the bylaw changes that are not in section 5.3 separately from the rest. It seems these are mostly clarification of the existing bylaws and have value without the WG changes.

Thanks,
Peter

Hi all,

Here are the draft documents for Wednesday’s Governance Reform WG’s discussion on the WG changes. There’s a DRAFT IPR policy and DRAFT Bylaws, both marked to show the proposed changes. There’s also a short slide deck that I plan to review on the call.

Unfortunately, I was unable to save the IPR policy as a PDF, because then people would not be able to read the comments. If people are violently opposed to using Word, as some have previously expressed, they can download a free version of OpenOffice and view the document that way. www.openoffice.org<http://www.openoffice.org/>

Please review and let me know if you have any comments/questions/concerns that I could address before the call on Wednesday. Thanks!
